Oh my goodness...The beginning starts here! My name is Star...technically it's Starlett...NOT to be confused with Charlotte or Scarlett. I have been playing around with the idea of starting a blog for a little while now. With tomorrow being my one month wedding anniversary (Newlywed alert...eeeek!), I figured I would get something else fabulous started in my life.
I want to start this blog to help document my pretty little life. It took me for-ev-er (Sandlot duh) to think of a cute and catchy title. Mi madre went on a trip to Aruba and brought us back salt and pepper shakers as a souvenir...it was a white girl salt shaker and a black man pepper shaker hugging...Salt and pepper...get it? Since my husband and I are an interracial couple....my mom often calls us Mrs. Salt and Mr. Pepper...hence the title. The party of two part can always be updated...in like at least a year updated...not.ready.for.babies.yet....but when we are, they are going to have the most amazing skin tone...and I will probably be jealous of my childs tan..I mean skin tone.
I have a wonderful new husband, amazing friends who are seriously my family, and an adorable cat (Ricky Bobby) who I love to pieces. If anybody is reading this...probably not...then maybe, just maybe I can inspire someone or help a sister out. I have read..stalked...a lot of amazing blogs recently and really relate/connect with these women (I promise I will speak up and say hi soon). I have stalled on actually writing my first post because of all the catty comments and absolute rudeness that I have seen out there on the Internet....ain't nobody got time for that!! No seriously, ain't nobody got time for that...especially this girl! I want this to be a NO NEGATIVITY zone....Positive Polly only please and thank you! If you don't like what I choose to blog about in MY LIFE...then please don't read MY blog :) I promise I will not use correct grammar most of the time (even though I'm a teacher) and I cuss like a sailor...after 3:30 pm M-F & all day errrrrrrrry day on the weekends!
Anyways, I am an end-of-my-twenties newlywed who is loving life. I hope to make some blog friends....this is where my husband thinks I'm crazy. I want to celebrate my accomplishments and learn and grow from my mistakes. I plan to blog about my everyday life....the good, the bad, and the ugly. I want to partake in linkups and host giveaways....share recipes....get inspired to work-out (ughhh this must happen)....etc, etc, etc.
